World cup is a special event for every cricketer. Every aspiring cricketer dreams of playing and winning a world cup for his country. No other tournament can match the thrills of playing the first world cup for a cricketer (except “The Ashes” for English and Australian cricketers). But one thing which can be equally special as the first world cup is the last world cup for a cricketer. Specially, when the player himself know that this can be his last world cup. The urge to perform well, win the cup and stamp their class on the world stage goes high for any player. With the next world cup in 2019, here is a list of a few cricketers who might be playing their last world cup in ongoing World T20 in India:

Tillakaratne Dilshan
Tillakaratne Dilshan

The veteran Sri Lankan is now 39 years old and with no T20 World Cup in 2018, this World T20 will definitely be his last one. The Sri Lankan team will certainly miss Dilshan at the top in their upcoming world cup campaigns. Dilshan was the highest run scorer in World T20 2009 and World Cup 2011. Sri Lanka made it to the finals in both the tournaments which shows the importance of Dilshan in Sri Lanka’s world cup squad. Even in Sri Lanka’s opening game in the ongoing T20 World Cup, it was Dilshan who saved Sri Lanka’s face from an embarrassing defeat against the Afghans with an unbeaten 83*. Surely the Lankan fans will miss their aggressive opener in world tournaments.
