Joyce played for Ireland till 2005. After he looked too good to be playing for his birth nation, he came to England. He had a promising start, and one of the highlights was his century against Mighty Australia in 2007; he even represented England in the 2007 World Cup.

But due to lack of chance in England, he went back to his home, and has represented Ireland in 2011 and 2015.
