Pradeep Sangwan, the Delhi seamer, has been banned for 18 months from taking part in any BCCI run tournament till  November 5, 2014 for violating the anti-doping regulations during the course of IPL 2013. The BCCI-appointed anti-doping panel found that Sangwan’s sample showed the presence of stanozolol, a prohibited steroid.

Random tests are conducted during the IPL, like in ICC tournaments. The BCCI, which doesn’t come under the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) or the NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency), follow their own anti-doping procedures.

Sangwan, 22, played only two matches for Knight Riders in 2013 and failed to pick up a single wicket. He made his first-class debut in 2007 and has played 38 matches for Delhi since then.
