#9 New Zealand v Pakistan, Dunedin, 2009

Shane Bond will always remember the last test of his career. Not because of his man-of-the-match performance but because it turned out to be a cliffhanger of a test match. Pakistan looked out of the test on the third day when they were 85-5 in reply to New Zealand’s 429. Akmal brothers came to the rescue with a partnership of 176 and 24 hours later, New Zealand were 234 ahead with 8 wickets down. Pakistan had made a superb comeback but their chase of 251 on the last day was a see-saw ride. They were 4 wickets down for 100 but then came in a striking distance of just 60 runs away from the target with 5 wickets left. Pakistan then lost 5 wickets for 23 runs and New Zealand turned the match again in their favor with a 32 run victory.

Proved to be the last test for Shane Bond but a brilliant one for New Zealand.
